The wood sculpture symposium in Maria Saal takes place annually around the cathedral. 10 artists from the Alpen-Adria region work 10 days live and open air.
The 8th Maria Saal Sculpture Symposium took place between 18th and 27th of June 2009. The following artists took part: Elisabeth Ledersberger-Lehocky, Helmut Machhammer, Andres Klimbacher, Bruno Cappelletti, Martin Honsel, Egon Straszer, Rudi Benetik, Urša Toman, Ana Kovačič und Jean Paul Falcioni.
